Patna, September 1: Independent MP Pappu Yadav from Purnia has raised concerns regarding India’s GDP growth, the FIR against Rahul Gandhi, and the recent MOU between Bihar and Jharkhand.
In a recent discussion, Yadav questioned, “If Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not address inflation, how can he talk about GDP? The prices of oil, ethanol, vegetables, rice, fruits, and fertilizers are continuously rising, causing distress among the people. The per capita income in India ranges from 12,000 to 18,000 rupees. The poor bear the brunt of the highest taxes. The government is forgiving loans for big industrialists. The GDP growth is being portrayed based on the wealth of industrialists and capitalists. If GDP is truly growing, why is the stock market declining? If there is GDP growth, why is the government borrowing? The Prime Minister should answer this.”
Regarding the FIR filed against Rahul Gandhi in Haldwani, Yadav stated, “Rahul Gandhi is not afraid of death. He represents the common man, an ideology, and the voice of the Constitution. He stands for all communities, religions, and classes against hatred. Whether it concerns ST, Dalit, OBC, or issues related to gender or class, he raises his voice on every matter. No one in the world can intimidate Rahul Gandhi.”
On the ongoing tussle between two central ministers over reservations, Yadav emphasized, “They need to understand that nothing is above the Constitution and the thoughts of Babasaheb Ambedkar. If there is a discussion about changing the system, the percentage of reservations should be increased. We have also provided 10% reservation to families from higher castes.”
Commenting on the MOU between Bihar and Jharkhand, the Purnia MP remarked, “This is a positive development. I have always said that the entire country is ours. We should communicate with each other; we are one family. Some states act like mothers, while others like aunts. Any decision made in the interest of the people of the states requires cooperation and support.”
Regarding the proposed protests by rebel Congress leaders, Yadav said, “Every individual is free and has the right to hold their thoughts and ideologies. For Rahul Gandhi, crucial issues include the Constitution, unemployment, and the nation. We are guided by the Constitution and the Gita, not Manusmriti. These are the pressing issues at hand.”
