
Jaipur, March 1: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan’s Special Unit-2 has arrested Uttam Pandey from the village of Sarai Pandepur in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. He was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹13 lakhs from a complainant in a trap operation conducted in the Sikar district on Saturday.
According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the complainant filed a written complaint with ACB Jaipur on December 30, 2025. In his complaint, he alleged that he was defrauded by a private company, QFX Private Limited, regarding an investment in 2022.
The accused contacted the victim, falsely claiming to be associated with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Chandigarh. He demanded a bribe to remove the victim’s name from the case and provide relief. Initially, the accused asked for ₹20 lakhs, later reducing the amount to ₹15 lakhs, and finally agreeing to accept ₹13 lakhs.
After verifying the complaint, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh set up a trap under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Anil Kayal on Saturday. The accused was apprehended near Hotel Ashok at Kalyan Circle while accepting the bribe. A total of ₹13 lakhs was recovered from him, including ₹2 lakhs in cash and ₹11 lakhs through other means.
The operation and subsequent actions are being monitored by ACB’s Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and further investigation is underway.
