Rajasthan CM Accuses Opposition of Undermining Womens Rights

Jaipur, April 20: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has accused opposition parties of attempting to undermine women’s rights and aspirations. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to ensuring full rights and representation for women.

During the ‘Women’s Public Outrage March’ in Jaipur, the Chief Minister stated that the passing of the amendment bill related to the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ on April 17 should have marked a historic moment for women. However, he claimed that opposition parties tried to derail this progress.

He criticized dynastic parties for opposing the law in Parliament, asserting that they will face a strong response from women across the nation. “In our culture, women have always held the highest place. The government introduced this law to ensure their active participation in policy-making, but some parties attempted to obstruct it,” he stated.

Sharma reiterated that women’s dignity has always been paramount in society. The BJP government presented the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ in Parliament to ensure women’s active involvement in the legislative process. However, he accused politically motivated parties of conspiring to thwart this law and undermine women’s rights, warning that the opposition will pay a heavy price for their actions.

The Chief Minister also criticized the opposition for opposing significant decisions by the central government, including the abrogation of Article 370 and the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code. He alleged that opposition leaders questioned the actions of the Indian Army during ‘Operation Sindoor.’ Highlighting initiatives launched since 2014 to empower women, he mentioned programs such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,’ ‘Ujjwala Yojana,’ ‘Lakhpati Didi,’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana.’

He concluded by stating that the dream of a developed India and a developed Rajasthan cannot be realized without women’s participation in leadership and governance.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari also criticized the opposition, labeling their stance on the Women’s Reservation Bill as unfortunate and disrespectful to women.

The ‘Women’s Public Outrage March’ saw participation from several leaders, including State Minister Manju Baghmar, MP Manju Sharma, and BJP Mahila Morcha’s state president Rakhi Rathore. Additionally, party workers and women from various sections of society were present.
