Jaipur, April 14: On the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced a significant initiative to establish 200 Ambedkar E-Libraries across urban areas in the state. This move aims to enhance digital education and social empowerment.
While addressing a state-level event in Jaipur, the Chief Minister emphasized that the initiative aligns with Babasaheb’s vision of social justice and equality. It particularly seeks to expand access to knowledge and digital resources for marginalized and underprivileged communities.
Additionally, Sharma revealed plans to set up an Ambedkar Residential Coaching Center in Mundla, Jaipur, to assist students preparing for competitive exams. He stressed the government’s commitment to uplifting individuals at the bottom of the social ladder by ensuring equal access to education and opportunities.
Inspired by Ambedkar’s ideals, Sharma mentioned that the state operates on the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,” aiming for inclusive development and empowerment.
Highlighting a broader perspective, he noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, welfare schemes are effectively reaching marginalized communities, contributing to their socio-economic development.
The proposed Ambedkar E-Libraries will serve as modern knowledge centers, providing students and youth with digital learning tools, online study materials, and career resources. The Mundla Residential Coaching Center will further strengthen academic support for candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds.
During the event, the Chief Minister transferred ₹1,363 crores to beneficiaries of pension schemes and the Palanhar scheme through direct benefit transfer. He inaugurated 10 hostel buildings, laid the foundation for 17 additional structures, and virtually opened a library at the ‘Swayam Siddh’ campus in Jamdoli.
An AI-based initiative called ‘Help Desk Samadhan Saathi’ was also launched. Furthermore, assistive devices were distributed to persons with disabilities, financial aid was provided under the Kanyadaan scheme, and meritorious students were honored under the Mukhyamantri Anupriti Coaching Scheme.
Sharma highlighted the progress made in education and welfare schemes, mentioning significant financial assistance provided to students under scholarship programs for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and the most backward classes after matriculation.
He reiterated that the government is working towards holistic development, inspired by the spirit of Antyodaya. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot also addressed the gathering, affirming the government’s commitment to realizing Ambedkar’s vision through effective social security and welfare programs.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Disha Kumari, Premchand Baidwa, along with several ministers, MPs, MLAs, and senior officials.
