India’s Optimism Shines at IIM Raipur Graduation Ceremony

Raipur, April 4: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar arrived in Raipur on Saturday morning. Upon his arrival at Raipur Airport, he was warmly welcomed by Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, along with administrative officials and representatives from the institution. Following the reception, he headed directly to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campus in Naya Raipur.

Dr. Jaishankar served as the chief guest at the 15th annual graduation ceremony of IIM Raipur. Addressing the graduates, he remarked, “The world is currently undergoing significant upheaval, which is structural in many ways. The global order is transforming before our eyes, with clear shifts in relative power and the balance of global influence.”

He emphasized, “There is no denying that recent shocks worldwide have tested our resilience, and India has faced them all with strength. We have successfully navigated challenges both domestically and internationally.”

Dr. Jaishankar highlighted the unique optimism present in Indian society, stating, “This kind of optimism is not seen in many other parts of the world. You may ask why this is the case. The last decade has been significantly better, instilling confidence that the next ten years and beyond will also be prosperous. After all, we have now joined the ranks of the world’s top five economies.”

He reiterated the importance of inclusive development, representative politics, and decisive leadership, stating, “These elements have laid a new foundation upon which we can aspire for even greater heights. We have not only embraced the digital revolution enthusiastically but have also implemented it purposefully in our lives. Even many developed societies have not achieved this. Perhaps this reflects a resurgence of the ‘can-do spirit.’”
