New Delhi, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : The weather in New Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region (NCR) has shifted once again. According to the latest forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the likelihood of rainfall has significantly decreased. In the coming days, light clouds may linger, offering some respite from the intense sunshine.
Temperatures are expected to gradually rise. On September 18, the maximum temperature in Delhi is projected to reach 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to be around 23 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels will hover between 60 and 70 percent, with partly cloudy skies throughout the day.
Similar weather conditions are anticipated for September 19 and 20. During these days, maximum temperatures could reach 35 degrees Celsius, with minimums remaining around 23 degrees Celsius. Humidity is forecasted to drop from 70 to 55 percent on the 19th, and 65 to 55 percent on the 20th, with partial cloud cover expected both days.
The IMD predicts clearer skies from September 21 to 23, with predominantly clear weather. The maximum temperature will stabilize at 35 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will range between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius.
In addition to the weather, air quality in Delhi-NCR is also a source of relief for residents. The Air Quality Index (AQI) readings indicate that air quality remains in the ‘Green Zone,’ which is considered satisfactory. Key monitoring stations across Delhi show AQI levels below 100, with readings of 62 in Aya Nagar, 58 in Bawana, 70 in Ashok Vihar, and 71 in the Cantonment Area.
However, areas like Anand Vihar (86) and Burari Crossing (95) are approaching an AQI of 100 but still fall within the satisfactory range. In the NCR, air quality remains in the Green Zone in Noida’s Sector 62 (81) and Sector 1 (92). Yet, readings in Sector 125 (111) and Sector 116 (117) have surpassed 100, placing them in the ‘Moderate’ category. Ghaziabad’s Govindpuram (44) boasts the cleanest air, with Indirapuram (61) and Vasundhara (61) also in the Green Zone.
Areas such as Loni (92), Ved Vihar-Loni (86), and Sanjay Nagar (98) also maintain satisfactory air quality. Although the chances of rain in the NCR have diminished, the movement of clouds and clear skies will provide some relief from the sun. Furthermore, pollution levels remain below hazardous thresholds, which is a positive sign for public health.
