Rain Brings Relief to NCR as Air Quality Improves

New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The weather in the National Capital Region (NCR) has shifted dramatically in recent days, bringing much-needed relief to residents. According to the latest forecasts from the India Meteorological Department, light rain and thundershowers are expected to continue across various parts of NCR in the coming days. This change in weather has not only alleviated the intense heat but has also led to a notable decrease in pollution levels.

On September 14, the maximum temperature is anticipated to reach 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to be around 24 degrees. Humidity levels are projected to range between 70% and 90%. The sky will generally be overcast, with light rain likely. The following day, September 15, temperatures are expected to fluctuate between 32 and 24 degrees, with similar cloudy conditions and chances of light rain. By September 16, temperatures could rise to 34 degrees, with a minimum of 24 degrees, and light rain remains a possibility.

A significant change in weather conditions is forecasted for September 17, when the sky will be partially cloudy. Temperatures are expected to range from 34 to 23 degrees, with humidity dropping to between 55% and 75%. The weather will remain similar on September 18 and 19, with temperatures forecasted to be between 34 and 25 degrees on the 18th, and 35 and 25 degrees on the 19th.

This change in weather has had a direct impact on air quality in NCR. Currently, the Air Quality Index (AQI) across the region remains in the ‘green zone’, providing a breath of fresh air for residents. Various areas in Delhi report AQI levels such as 86 in Anand Vihar, 80 in Ashok Vihar, and 66 in Bawana. Other areas like Chandni Chowk and the Commonwealth Sports Complex show AQI levels of 64 and 77, respectively. In Noida, Sector 125 has an AQI of 73, while Sector 62 reports 60, and Sector 116 is at 106, indicating a moderate level of pollution.

In Ghaziabad, the AQI levels are also encouraging, with Govindpuram at 40, Indirapuram at 48, and Sanjay Nagar at 67. The overall weather in NCR is expected to remain slightly cooler and more humid in the coming days. The presence of light rain and clouds is preventing pollution particles from settling in the air, thus maintaining the AQI in the green zone.
