Raiders Eye Broncos’ Davis Webb for Head Coach Role

The Las Vegas Raiders are searching for a new head coach for the second straight offseason following the dismissal of Pete Carroll on Black Monday. Their latest potential candidate is Denver Broncos’ Davis Webb, who has been requested for an interview.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Raiders have asked to interview Webb, who currently serves as the Broncos’ pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Webb joined the Broncos in 2023 and took on additional responsibilities this season by overseeing the passing offence. His coaching has contributed to the Broncos securing a 14-3 regular-season record and the top seed in the AFC playoffs.

In addition to Webb, the Raiders are also considering Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph for the head coach vacancy.

Davis Webb’s background as an NFL quarterback spans six seasons before he retired and shifted directly into coaching. At just 30 years old, he is regarded within the Broncos organisation as a promising future head coach.

If Webb is hired within the next four days, he would become the youngest head coach in NFL history, surpassing Sean McVay. Otherwise, he would still rank as the second-youngest head coach ever.
