Indore, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to engage with students in Indore on Saturday at 5 PM as part of his “Students’ Resonance” initiative. Ahead of the event, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has put up posters targeting Gandhi, prompting Congress leader Digvijaya Singh to claim that the BJP is anxious about the program. Senior Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma noted that over 250,000 students have registered for the event.
In an interview, Digvijaya Singh expressed, “Rahul Gandhi is warmly welcomed in Indore. Many students from across Madhya Pradesh are participating in the ‘Students’ Resonance’ program because they are dissatisfied with this government. They are against paper leaks and corruption in the education sector. The BJP is rattled by Rahul Gandhi’s popularity.”
Sajjan Singh Verma described the event as historic and non-political, emphasizing Gandhi’s appeal among youth, particularly students. He stated, “Students believe there is someone fighting for their rights. Events across India, including in Gaya, Guna, Pune, Kota, and Dehradun, have seen thousands of students participate willingly. The Indore event is expected to be the largest. Indore is a hub for students, and registrations are being made voluntarily, with approximately 250,000 already completed.”
Meanwhile, BJP MP Anil Firozia from Ujjain commented, “PM Modi is right; these people are like unreasonably upset relatives at a wedding. Whenever Congress holds a committee meeting, they lack substantial issues to raise. They only seek to oppose government initiatives without any valid concerns.”
It is worth noting that Congress was denied permission to hold the event at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Indore. Consequently, the Madhya Pradesh Congress unit secured a temporary lease for approximately 12,000 square meters of land in front of a regional park from September 17 to 19.
Earlier this week, Rahul Gandhi took to social media platform X, stating, “I am coming to Indore on September 19 to meet students, hear your concerns, and engage in dialogue. If you or your loved ones have suffered under the education system and wish for change, remember that ‘Students’ Resonance’ is your collective voice and an opportunity to initiate change.”
