Raghav Chadha Gifts Lord Ganesha Idol to PM Modi, Reflects on Memorable Meeting

New Delhi, August 8: BJP Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha described his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as unforgettable. He shared a photo of the meeting on the social media platform ‘X’.

In his post, he wrote, “A morning that I will always remember. I had the privilege of meeting PM Modi. We had a detailed and enriching conversation. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to learn from his invaluable time and guidance.”

On August 6, Chadha expressed serious concerns in the Rajya Sabha regarding the practice of ‘cut money’ or referral commissions among certain doctors and diagnostic centers. He stated that this informal arrangement ultimately burdens the patients financially.

During zero hour in the Rajya Sabha, Chadha noted that a system has developed where doctors receive a predetermined commission for referring patients to diagnostic tests.

He said, “This has become an informal arrangement. Doctors are paid up to ₹3,000 not for treating patients but for referring them. The established commission rates, agents, and a parallel incentive economy are at play.”

Chadha accused diagnostic centers of labeling these payments as ‘marketing expenses’ in their accounts, while doctors record them as ‘referral commissions.’ However, the reality is that the entire cost is ultimately added to the patient’s bill.
