Punjab Kings Set to Face Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 Opener, Tickets Available March 20

New Delhi, March 19: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is set to kick off on March 28. Punjab Kings will play their first match against Gujarat Titans on March 31 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. Ticket sales for this much-anticipated match will begin on March 20 at 6 PM through the District app and website.

Tickets for the general stands will start at ₹1,500, while hospitality tickets will be available from ₹7,500. Fans can also purchase tickets offline. The box office will open on March 23 at the new International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh, as well as at IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali (Gate 2 and Gate 2A) and the P4 parking box office (only for online ticket collection on match days, not for offline purchases).

Last week, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for the first phase of IPL 2026, which will run from March 28 to April 12. The season will commence with a match between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

A total of 20 matches will be held across 10 venues (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Guwahati, New Chandigarh, Lucknow, Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad) during the first phase of IPL 2026. This phase will feature four double-headers, with afternoon matches starting at 3:30 PM and evening matches at 7:30 PM.

Punjab Kings are on a quest for their first IPL title. The team reached the finals last season but lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by just six runs.
