New Delhi, July 1: Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Kewal Singh Dhillon met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday to discuss critical issues related to the state’s development and infrastructure.
During the meeting, Dhillon expressed gratitude to the central government and Minister Gadkari for their support of ongoing National Highway and other development projects in Punjab. He noted that the central government is actively working to strengthen the road infrastructure in the state.
Minister Gadkari highlighted that under the Bharatmala project, the central government is creating a vast network of modern highways and expressways across the country.
As part of this initiative, the Jamnagar-Amritsar Economic Corridor is being developed, connecting Punjab to major commercial hubs in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
He stated that these projects will not only enhance transportation but also significantly boost industry, trade, employment, and economic growth, benefiting Punjab immensely.
State BJP chief Dhillon emphasized that all road projects in Punjab are being funded by the central government, showcasing its visionary approach and commitment.
He criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab for attempting to take credit for development through advertisements rather than actual initiatives.
Dhillon further asserted that the BJP-led central government is fully committed to the comprehensive development of Punjab.
He added that if the BJP forms a ‘double-engine’ government in Punjab in 2027, the pace of development will accelerate, bringing numerous major infrastructure projects to the state.
Earlier this month, Dhillon had met with party president Nitin Naveen to express gratitude for the leadership responsibilities assigned to him and assured collaboration with party leaders.
He thanked BJP president Naveen for leading the Punjab unit and promised to work together with state leaders, officials, and workers.
