Public Discontent Grows Over Nitish Kumars Rajya Sabha Nomination

Patna, March 6: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to join the Rajya Sabha has sparked significant discontent among Janata Dal (United) workers. Union Minister Ramnath Thakur stated that the public’s anger is understandable.

During a media interaction in Patna, Thakur remarked that Nitish Kumar made this decision independently. He noted, “Since Nitish Kumar has taken this decision himself, there is little that can be done. It is true that there is public anger regarding his move to the Rajya Sabha, and this is quite natural. Not only JD(U) workers but the general public is also upset. Nitish Kumar has served the people of Bihar for 20 years, and his decision to join the Rajya Sabha is his own.”

JD(U) MLA Vinay Chaudhary, representing the Benipur constituency, expressed his disappointment as well, stating that while they are saddened by Kumar’s decision, the leadership’s choice must be respected. He added, “This is the first time that a leader who has governed a state for over two decades is leaving, and the public is disheartened.”

Since Kumar announced his intention to join the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, there has been widespread outrage among JD(U) workers. They feel that the public entrusted Kumar with a mandate for five years, and his move to the Rajya Sabha is seen as a betrayal of that trust.

JD(U) workers are demanding that Nitish Kumar remain the Chief Minister of Bihar and continue serving the people of the state. The influx of legislators and MPs to Patna continues as they rally in support of Kumar’s leadership.
