Mumbai, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently honored his late co-star Nana Patekar with a touching tribute. On October 8, 2026, Salman shared a black-and-white photograph of Patekar on his Instagram story, captioning it, “Nana… Rest in peace, Bhau…”
The two actors appeared together in the 1996 musical film “Khamoshi: The Musical,” alongside Manisha Koirala and Seema Biswas. In this drama, Patekar portrayed the character Joseph Braganza, while Salman took on the role of Raj.
Manisha Koirala also remembered Patekar as a remarkable artist whose dedication left a significant mark on cinema. On her official handle, she expressed her sorrow, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of a great actor, a wonderful personality, and a true master of his craft. His contributions to cinema and dedication to his art will always be remembered. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.”
Numerous other prominent Bollywood figures shared their memories on social media, mourning the loss of the esteemed actor. Shah Rukh Khan recalled his first meeting with Patekar, admitting he was quite nervous and fidgeting with his hair. Patekar had playfully admonished him, saying, “Don’t style your hair like a hero… you’re an actor.”
On Instagram, Shah Rukh reflected on Patekar’s candid nature, stating, “He never gave false praise. He told you what you needed to hear, not what you wanted to hear. Nana was straightforward, a bit tough, honest, and had a lovely smile.”
Shah Rukh further shared how Patekar expressed his affection in his unique way, saying, “He would yell at you first, and then somewhere between the third or fourth scolding, you’d realize he was embracing you. He loved me, and I loved him. He was my mentor, teacher, critic, and friend—one who repeatedly defeated me in carom and relished his victories.”
