Hingoli, August 18: Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Party, has launched a nationwide ‘Fix Schools’ campaign starting from his ancestral village in Santuk Pimpal, Hingoli district, on Independence Day.
During this campaign, residents near Hingoli city accused the principal of the district council school of attending school under the influence of alcohol. Following the complaints, Dipke visited the school and contacted education officer Asavari Kale, demanding immediate action against the principal.
Dipke warned that if no action was taken promptly, he would join the citizens in a hunger strike. Subsequently, an old video of the principal sleeping in the classroom while intoxicated went viral on social media. Taking the matter seriously, Vivek Gaikwad, the Chief Executive Officer of Hingoli District Council, issued a written order for the principal’s suspension.
Following the suspension, Dipke plans to revisit the school in Limbala MIDC to assess whether there have been improvements in the school’s management and educational standards.
On August 16, Dipke posted on X, stating, “Photos of the principal with alcohol and sleeping in the classroom after drinking. The principal must be suspended immediately! How can a principal, drunk, manage a government school? This is a serious concern for the safety of children, especially young girls.”
He also mentioned, “Villagers have repeatedly complained about the principal’s drinking habits, but senior officials have taken no action. If the principal is not removed by Tuesday, I will join the villagers in protest. There are only two teachers for five classrooms. These issues cannot be ignored.”
