Lucknow, June 18: In a thrilling encounter at the Ekana Stadium, Prince Yadav made his debut for the Indian cricket team in the second ODI against Afghanistan. The right-arm fast bowler described this moment as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. He received his debut cap from India’s vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, marking a significant milestone in his career.
While presenting the cap, Iyer said, “Cap number 263, Prince. You have worked hard to reach this point. Your performance clearly shows that you deserve this opportunity. As you mentioned yesterday, you want to make your country proud and bring joy to everyone who supports you. Best of luck to you, your family, and everyone who has been part of this journey. Go well, buddy.”
In a video shared by the BCCI, Prince expressed his emotions, stating, “Every cricketer dreams of playing for India and wearing the national jersey. When I wore the jersey for the first time during the headshot, it felt amazing. My parents were proud, and I am grateful to God. Debuting is a significant achievement for any player, but the main goal is to perform for my team and help them win. That would bring me immense joy.”
Prince Yadav earned his spot on the Indian team through impressive performances in domestic cricket and the IPL. In a previous interview during the IPL, he mentioned his aspiration to play and win the ODI World Cup in 2027. His debut marks the beginning of that dream.
