Dubai, August 30: Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has moved up to second place in the list of highest run-scorers in women’s international cricket, surpassing Suzie Bates.
The left-handed batswoman scored 19 runs off 10 balls against Thailand in the third match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 on Sunday, including four boundaries. With this performance, Mandhana has accumulated a total of 10,756 runs in international cricket. She has scored 788 runs in Test matches, while her One Day International (ODI) tally stands at 5,411 runs. In T20 internationals, she has amassed 4,557 runs.
At 30 years old, Mandhana has recorded two centuries and five half-centuries in her nine Test matches. In 120 ODIs, she has achieved 14 centuries and 35 half-centuries. In T20 internationals, Mandhana has one century along with 35 half-centuries.
Mithali Raj leads the list with a total of 10,868 runs, while Suzie Bates is now in third place with 10,740 runs. Charlotte Edwards (10,273) and Stafanie Taylor (10,007) follow in fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
In their first match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, Thailand won the toss and opted to bowl. This match also marks the T20 international debut of Pratika Rawal. Thailand’s acting captain, Thipcha Puthavong, confirmed that the team’s regular captain, Naruemol Chaiwai, is sidelined due to injury.
Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian playing XI includes Shefali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Pratika Rawal, Bharti Fulmali, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Deepti Sharma, Prema Rawat, N. Shree Chaarani, Kranti Gaud, and Nandini Sharma.
