
New Delhi, March 21: Eid ul-Fitr is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across India today. Since morning, mosques have been filled with members of the Muslim community gathering for prayers. People are embracing each other and exchanging Eid greetings. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also conveyed their Eid wishes to the nation.
In a post on X, President Droupadi Murmu stated, “On the auspicious occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, I extend heartfelt greetings to all citizens, especially to my Muslim sisters and brothers. This festival teaches us self-restraint, service, philanthropy, and compassion towards the underprivileged. Let us take this opportunity to pledge to strengthen our society and nation.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his wishes on X, saying, “Warm wishes for Eid ul-Fitr. May this day promote brotherhood and harmony. Wishing everyone happiness and health.”
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also congratulated the nation on Eid, writing on X, “May this auspicious occasion inspire hope, goodwill, and compassion, bringing joy and success to all.”
Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, posted on X, “Heartfelt wishes for Eid ul-Fitr to everyone! May this special day bring joy, prosperity, and new opportunities for all. Let’s celebrate with a spirit of unity and gratitude with our loved ones.”
Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, extended his wishes on X, stating, “Warm greetings on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr. May your prayers and fasts be accepted, and may Allah grant us all peace, prosperity, and happiness. Let us continue to work together with compassion and unity for our great nation.”
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also offered his Eid greetings, writing on X, “Heartfelt wishes and greetings to the people of the state and the nation, especially to my Muslim brothers and sisters on this occasion of Eid. May God shower us with His blessings on this auspicious day, bringing happiness, peace, and prosperity to the state.”
At Delhi’s Jama Masjid, a large number of people gathered to offer prayers and embraced each other, exchanging Eid greetings afterward.
