Gautami Patil Opens Up About Viral Video Controversy, Receives Support from Madhuri Dixit

Mumbai, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : Actress Gautami Patil recently appeared alongside television personality Shiv Thakare on Madhuri Dixit’s quiz reality show “Kaun Honaar Crorepati.” During the episode, she addressed the controversy surrounding her viral video, public criticism, and the steps she took to make amends.

Reflecting on the incident, Gautami recounted how a performance at an event led to her video spreading rapidly on social media. “I learned about what happened only when I was heading home after the show,” she shared. “Upon realizing the situation, I immediately issued a statement and apologized to the people of Maharashtra. What occurred was unintentional, but I took responsibility for it. I then worked on myself to ensure such a mistake wouldn’t happen again.”

Gautami also expressed the challenges of moving past a public label. “Once you’re labeled, it becomes difficult to break free from it,” she noted. “People continue to share that old video instead of recognizing the good work I’m doing now. If anyone still believes I’m making the same mistakes, I invite them to see my current performances. If they find something wrong, they should feel free to speak up. I just want people to look at what I’m doing today before passing judgment.”

She also discussed the audience dynamics at her shows, revealing a shift in demographics. Gautami mentioned that while her audience used to be predominantly male, the number of female attendees has significantly increased.

In response to Gautami’s reflections, Madhuri Dixit remarked, “When you acknowledge your mistakes and take steps to correct them, there’s nothing left to say. There’s no basis for any accusations against you.”

The controversy dates back to 2022 when Gautami faced backlash for inappropriate gestures and steps during her dance performances. In light of the escalating criticism, she publicly apologized with folded hands.
