
Nashik, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : As preparations ramp up for the Singhast Mahakumbh, a crucial flag hoisting ceremony is set to take place on October 31 in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar. A significant meeting was convened by the Kumbh Mela administration and the Kumbh Mela Authority to discuss the event, chaired by Girish Mahajan, the Minister for Kumbh Mela and Guardian Minister.
The meeting brought together saints, representatives from various akhadas, and administrative officials. Discussions focused on ensuring the flag hoisting ceremony is conducted in a grand and orderly manner, adhering to religious traditions. Given the expected influx of devotees, officials deliberated on security, traffic management, sanitation, parking, emergency services, and administrative coordination.
Two primary locations have been designated for the flag hoisting: Ramkund Ghat in Nashik and Kushavart Kund in Trimbakeshwar, near the Trimbakeshwar Jyotirling temple complex. Minister Mahajan announced that the flag will be hoisted simultaneously at both sites at 12:02 PM. This event marks a significant milestone in the formal commencement of the Singhast Mahakumbh.
One of the flag hoisting ceremonies will be officiated by President Droupadi Murmu, while the other will take place in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Numerous leaders from both the central and state governments are also expected to attend.
Mahajan instructed officials to ensure all preparations for the flag hoisting are completed on time. He emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous coordination with saints and akhada representatives to uphold religious customs. Additionally, he directed officials to enhance security and traffic arrangements, considering the anticipated crowd at both venues. Discussions also covered provisions for cleanliness, parking, and necessary amenities for devotees, along with coordination among relevant departments to address any emergencies.
The flag hoisting on October 31 is viewed as a pivotal moment in the preparations for the Singhast Mahakumbh, signaling a formal acceleration of the event’s organization in both Nashik and Trimbakeshwar.
