Yash Discusses Sons Reaction to His Role as Ravana in Upcoming Ramayana Film
Yash shares his sons surprise at his role as Ravana in the film Ramayana and the lessons learned from their discussion.

Mumbai, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : South Indian superstar Yash is currently in the spotlight for his role as Ravana in the much-anticipated film “Ramayana,” directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Recently, he shared an intriguing conversation he had with his son during the film’s preparation.
Yash revealed that his son was astonished to learn that his father would be portraying the villain rather than the hero, Lord Ram. The young boy found it hard to grasp how his dad could take on such a negative character.
“My son knows who I am, but when he learned about my role in Ramayana, he was quite taken aback,” Yash explained. The child expressed his disbelief, saying, “No, you are a bad man. How can you do this?” In response, Yash took the time to explain the importance of portraying every character to convey the story accurately.
“I had to sit him down and clarify that Lord Ram is the main character in this narrative, someone to look up to. While Ravana may appear powerful and influential, true and lasting victory comes from following the righteous path like Ram,” Yash stated. He added that while his son could cheer for him as an actor in the theater, he should not idolize the character he plays.
The conversation took an interesting turn when his son asked a challenging question: “Does Ravana lose and die at the end of the story?” Yash admitted that this was a tough question. “When I signed on for this film, I was focused solely on delivering an outstanding performance. I never anticipated having to address such questions from my son. Explaining the distinction between an actor and the character was a unique experience for me,” he said.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, “Ramayana” is based on the Indian epic and has already generated significant buzz among audiences. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, alongside a talented cast that includes Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Vivek Oberoi, and Anupam Kher.
“Ramayana” will be released in two parts, with the first installment set to debut on November 5 of this year, followed by the second part during the next Diwali celebration.
