Preparations for Census 2027 Accelerate in Nainital, First Phase Begins April 10

Nainital, April 10: The Additional District Magistrate of Nainital, Shailendra Singh Negi, has shared significant updates regarding the upcoming Census in India. He announced that preparations for the Census 2027 have commenced. Notably, this time, the census will be conducted digitally, enhancing public participation.

Negi explained that the census will be completed in two phases. The first phase involves house listing and counting, which began on April 10. This phase will be conducted as self-enumeration until April 24. Following this, from April 25 to May 24, enumerators and supervisors will visit homes to collect data.

He emphasized that a digital option is available, allowing individuals to enter their household information online. The government has provided a link for Indian citizens to log in and submit their details. This facility will be accessible on mobile devices, laptops, and desktops.

The process consists of approximately eight simple steps, enabling anyone to complete their information submission. Once finished, individuals will receive a unique ID, which must be kept secure. When government officials visit homes, they will verify the information using this ID before final submission.

Negi clarified that if someone is unable to complete the online process, there is no need for concern. Between April 25 and May 24, enumerators will assist in completing this task during their home visits. The administration aims to connect as many people as possible to this digital process to ensure efficiency and accuracy. To support this, a three-phase awareness campaign has been initiated.

In the first phase, local representatives, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, district panchayat presidents, and block chiefs, will be engaged. They will be informed about self-enumeration and encouraged to complete the process.

The second phase will involve all government employees, whether they work in offices or the field, encouraging them to fill in their information themselves. This will help involve a larger segment of the population in this digital initiative.

The third phase will focus on widespread awareness among the general public. This will include hoardings, banners, and other media in urban and rural areas to inform people. Even waste collection vehicles and public spaces will carry this message.

Special plans have been made for rural areas. Village officials, development officers, and school teachers will educate residents about the process. Schools will also teach children how to assist their families with self-enumeration.

Shailendra Singh Negi stated that in today’s digital age, nearly everyone uses mobile devices. This is an excellent opportunity for people to record their information and participate in this national process. This will not only expedite the census but also yield more accurate and reliable data.
