Political Turmoil Follows Defense Minister Rajnath Singhs Controversial Remarks

Political reactions intensify as Congress and SP criticize Defense Minister Rajnath Singhs comments on Indias economic state.

New Delhi, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions are escalating in New Delhi following Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent comments regarding the state of the Indian economy. Congress MP Manoj Kumar sharply criticized Singh, comparing India’s economic conditions unfavorably to those of Bangladesh. He accused the government of failing on economic fronts and suggested that it is deflecting attention from pressing issues by blaming Rahul Gandhi.

Kumar stated, “India’s economic situation is worse than that of Bangladesh. Yet, you claim you want to make India a ‘world leader’ by 2047. The person whose comments you refer to may be expressing a personal opinion, but all blame is being placed on Rahul Gandhi. Why is India lagging behind Bangladesh economically? Why has the government failed in this regard?”

He further questioned whether citizens should remain silent while elections are manipulated. Kumar challenged the Defense Minister, asking why Delhi has been transformed into a fortress. He referenced the government’s previous mishandling of the NEET exam papers, noting that many individuals in Delhi and Patna have been arrested in connection with the issue. Instead of discussing government change, Kumar urged the administration to address these serious concerns.

Fakhrul Hasan Chand, spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party, echoed Kumar’s sentiments, labeling the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as a troubled government that has failed on multiple fronts, including unemployment, security, and rising prices of essential goods. He emphasized that the youth of today are informed and engaged, stating, “Even Generation Alpha, who we never expected to protest, are now demanding better facilities in schools and colleges. They want to see the BJP government removed.”

Chand criticized the BJP for closing primary schools in Uttar Pradesh, where many young people study, and suggested that this reflects the party’s desperation.

Atul Pradhan, a Samajwadi Party MLA, expressed concern over Singh’s remarks, stating that a defense minister should not make such statements. He called for a more elevated discourse, free from party politics. Pradhan asserted that the BJP is the real instigator of violence and predicted a significant defeat for the party in the upcoming elections, with Akhilesh Yadav poised to lead the government.

SP MP Ikra Hasan highlighted past protests against the education minister, accusing the BJP of using brutal force against youth and women. She raised concerns about democracy and transparency, emphasizing that the youth are questioning their constitutional rights.

Awdhesh Prasad, another SP MP, dismissed the accusations against the opposition as baseless, affirming that the youth represent the future of the nation.

Tensions remain high as political parties prepare for the upcoming electoral battles, with the BJP facing increasing scrutiny over its governance.
