Political Outcry in Bihar Following Viral Video of Minors Assault in Samastipur

Samastipur, September 24 (Daily Kiran) : A disturbing video depicting the alleged harassment of a minor girl in Samastipur has sparked significant political backlash in Bihar. Following the arrest of four suspects, Lok Janshakti Party leader Chiranjeevi Paswan expressed his outrage, calling the incident both shameful and unfortunate.

Paswan took to social media platform X to voice his concerns. He stated that the situation has become alarming, as criminals appear emboldened to commit such heinous acts in public. He emphasized that when such incidents occur openly, it raises serious questions about law enforcement and administrative accountability.

The leader criticized local police and administrative officials, urging them to take their responsibilities seriously. He noted that while four individuals have been apprehended, this should not mark the end of the investigation. Paswan called on Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary to ensure that all individuals involved are identified and face stringent legal consequences. He drew parallels to a recent incident in Jamui, where he advocated for the same level of decisive action against the Samastipur suspects.

In response to the incident, Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal highlighted the need to investigate not only the assault but also the motivations behind the video’s creation and its dissemination on social media. He stressed the importance of understanding the context of the crime and indicated that those found guilty would face legal repercussions.

Jaiswal questioned why the assailants would record the incident and post it online, suggesting a possible agenda to tarnish the government’s image or a coordinated conspiracy behind the act.

Local MP Shambhavi Chaudhary condemned the incident, labeling it both reprehensible and unfortunate. She has been in touch with law enforcement and local administration since learning of the incident. According to her, the police have already arrested four suspects based on the video evidence.

Chaudhary asserted that any compromise on the dignity and safety of women and girls is unacceptable. She urged the public not to share the video that reveals the victim’s identity. Police have confirmed that a case has been registered, and further legal actions are underway.
