Political Manipulation Must End: Anand Dubey on Recent Developments

Mumbai, June 23: Anand Dubey, spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed concerns over the rising trend of political defections and manipulations in the country, responding to recent events involving the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

In an interview, he stated that the TMC was founded by Mamata Banerjee, and the future leadership of the party will be determined by time. However, he emphasized that it should not become a norm in democracy for one individual or leader to establish a party, only for another group to take control later.

Dubey highlighted that the tendency to break political parties and sway leaders to one’s side is increasing, which is detrimental to democratic values. He asserted that the founder of a political party should have both moral and political rights over it. When powerful individuals unite, they can go to any lengths, which he described as dangerous for democracy.

He also sharply criticized the ‘Operation Tiger’ that has become a topic of discussion in Maharashtra politics. With a sarcastic tone, he remarked that performing operations is the job of doctors, but now political leaders are also engaging in such activities.

Dubey accused others of continuously attempting to weaken his party. He noted that Shiv Sena once had 18 MPs, but divisions led to the formation of a separate faction with a new name and election symbol. This has affected the political standing of MPs who were elected through democratic processes.

He claimed that ongoing attempts to dismantle the party have diminished its strength. Discussions are now emerging about efforts to sway legislators and municipal councilors to their side.

Dubey pointed out that the entire situation appears one-sided, heavily influenced by power and authority.

On the issue of theft at the Ram Temple, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader launched a fierce attack on the temple administration. He stated that the Shri Ram Temple Trust oversees all arrangements and financial activities of the temple. Therefore, if incidents of theft or financial irregularities occur within the temple premises, the trust must be held accountable. He questioned why there has been no clear response from key officials associated with the trust, such as Champat Rai and Nripendra Mishra.

Dubey emphasized that devotees from across the country donate their hard-earned money for the construction and smooth operation of Lord Ram’s temple. If any misappropriation of these donations occurs, it should be viewed not just as corruption but as a betrayal of the devotees’ trust and against national interests.

He mentioned that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is working on the case, but the public is keen to see how fair and effective the investigation will be. He added that the investigating agency is under the state government, and Ayodhya is one of the areas of special focus for the government, so everyone is keeping a close watch on the matter.
