Political Frustration on Display: BJP and JD(U) Respond to Opposition March in Patna

Patna, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The recent march organized by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and other opposition parties in Patna has drawn sharp criticism from leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)]. They describe the event as an expression of “political frustration.”

Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi stated that those who once manipulated elections through booth capturing are now raising concerns about the Special Investigation Report (SIR) and fake voters. “This clearly reflects their political despair,” he remarked. Sarawagi pointed out that the same family accused of taking land from the poor in exchange for jobs is now preaching honesty and integrity.

He also highlighted that RJD National President Lalu Prasad Yadav is still convicted in a livestock scam but continues to lead the party. “During the SIR process, names of double ID holders, deceased individuals, and those who have moved away were removed from the voter list without any objections at the time,” Sarawagi added. He criticized the opposition for questioning the SIR while they once thrived on electoral manipulation.

Minister Ram Kripal Yadav commented on the anger march led by Tejashwi Yadav, asserting that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar conducted the elections impartially. “These opposition leaders have distanced themselves from power and are naturally frustrated, which is why they are holding this march,” he said.

JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan echoed similar sentiments, suggesting that Tejashwi Yadav is merely a “short version” of Rahul Gandhi. Ranjan accused Yadav of not being present during critical times, such as floods or assembly sessions, and only appearing to gain political visibility. “The people of Bihar are watching all of this,” he concluded.
