Lucknow, August 24: A significant political controversy has emerged in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, following a fish feast organized during the welcome event for Congress state president Ajay Rai in the month of Sawan.
Minister O.P. Rajbhar from the Uttar Pradesh government sharply criticized the event. He stated that many individuals are hosting fish feasts during Sawan to stay in the limelight. “Congress members do not respect religion; they create a facade in the name of faith,” he remarked.
Minister Narendra Kashyap also targeted Congress over the issue. He emphasized, “Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram, and the faith of people worldwide is linked to this holy city. Congress leaders should understand that in such a religious place, it is advisable to avoid serving non-vegetarian food during welcome events. There are many other ways to extend hospitality.”
He further added, “In my opinion, this act by Congress leaders seems to provoke Hindu sentiments, which is inappropriate.” Additionally, Minister Kashyap addressed the rising sugar prices, expressing concern shared by both the central and state governments.
He informed that the government has intensified actions across Uttar Pradesh against hoarders illegally stockpiling sugar. “All hoarders are under investigation, and we are apprehending them. I believe sugar prices will stabilize soon,” he concluded.
