New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the annual National Cadet Corps (NCC) PM Rally at Kariyappa Parade Ground in Delhi on Wednesday. He is expected to share his views on putting the nation first and the importance of character development.
The NCC PM Rally marks the grand conclusion of the month-long NCC Republic Day Camp 2026, which saw participation from 2,406 cadets across the country, including 898 girls. Officials stated that 207 youth and officers from 21 foreign countries will also take part in the rally.
According to an official statement released on Tuesday, this year’s rally theme is ‘Nation First – Dutiful Youth’, highlighting the spirit of duty, discipline, and national commitment among India’s youth.
The event will feature a vibrant cultural programme presented by NCC cadets, National Rangashala, and National Service Scheme members, showcasing their contributions to nation-building, social service, and character development.
Earlier, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the camp and referred to NCC cadets as the country’s second line of defence. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from their crucial role in spreading awareness during the nationwide mock drills of Operation Sindoor.
Addressing NCC cadets at the Delhi Cantonment Republic Day Camp, Rajnath Singh said, “As the world navigates uncertain times, our youth must remain physically, mentally, and emotionally strong and be ready to face every challenge.”
Recalling Operation Sindoor, he stated, “The Indian Armed Forces eliminated terrorists present in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Our soldiers acted with courage and restraint, targeting only those who harmed us. This was possible because they are strong in body, mind, and spirit.”
He further emphasized that NCC cadets develop a sense of discipline and patriotism, which helps them overcome issues like lack of focus. This focus is evident in all aspects of their lives, whether they join the armed forces or become doctors, engineers, teachers, scientists, administrators, or politicians.
