New Delhi, March 27: The political landscape in Kerala is heating up as BJP leader Anil Antony has accused the Congress and CPI-M of engaging in “vote bank politics” ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Antony’s remarks come in response to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s claim that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is part of the “BJP’s B-team.” Vijayan also dismissed allegations of a supposed alliance between CPI-M and BJP.
“Everyone knows who the real ‘B-team’ is. Look at what is happening in Kerala. Both CPI-M and Congress are part of the national ‘Indi Alliance.’ This is all about vote bank politics. Now, both parties are accusing each other of being linked to the BJP for the sake of their vote banks,” Antony stated.
He pointed out that recent seat-sharing arrangements in states like Tamil Nadu and Puducherry show Congress and CPI-M working together. Additionally, both parties have formed alliances in over 20 states, including Bihar, West Bengal, and Rajasthan.
Antony labeled the statements from Congress MP K.C. Venugopal and Chief Minister Vijayan as further examples of vote bank politics. He alleged that Congress and CPI-M are creating such political narratives to confuse the public and have long been in collusion to keep the BJP out of power.
He emphasized that the BJP is focusing on development issues in the upcoming elections, while Congress and CPI-M are resorting to communal and misleading politics.
Antony asserted that the BJP aims to become the number one party in Kerala and to oust both Congress and CPI-M from power in the forthcoming assembly elections.
