New Delhi, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform X on September 16 to share a thought-provoking message titled ‘Subhashitam.’ In this post, he emphasized the link between hard work and prosperity.
The Prime Minister referenced a verse from the Shanti Parva of the Mahabharata: “Advaidhamanasam yuktam shurham dheeram vipashchitam. Na shrih santyajate nityam adityamiva rashmayah.” This verse conveys that a person who is focused, diligent, brave, and wise will never lack prosperity, just as the sun’s rays never abandon it.
Each term in the verse carries significant meaning. “Advaidhamanasam” refers to someone whose mind is free from confusion, fully concentrated, and determined. “Yuktam” describes a disciplined individual who is consistently engaged in their tasks. “Shurham” means courageous and valiant, while “dheeram” denotes someone who remains calm in times of crisis. “Vipashchitam” signifies a wise and knowledgeable person. The phrase “na shrih santyajate nityam” indicates that prosperity, represented by Lakshmi, never forsakes such individuals. Lastly, “adityamiva rashmayah” likens this to how the sun’s rays never leave it.
Earlier, on September 11, PM Modi shared another ‘Subhashitam’ stating, “Chaturvarnyasya dharmashcha rakshitavya mahikshita. Dharmasankararaksha cha rajnam dharmah sanatanah.” This translates to the duty of representatives to promote justice, harmony, and public welfare across all societal classes through service and skilled leadership, thereby safeguarding moral values and dharma.
On June 10, he shared another Sanskrit verse: “Sadanuraktaprakritih prajapalana-tatparah. Vinitaatma hi nripati bhuuyasi shriyam ashnute.” The essence of this verse is that representatives who view service as their duty and work tirelessly for the public good, while ensuring governance and development with humility and discipline, truly gain public trust, fame, and prosperity.
