
New Delhi, March 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Ministry of Health for its advancements in tuberculosis (TB) elimination on Tuesday. He also praised Union Health Minister JP Nadda for his efforts.
PM Modi took to the social media platform ‘X’ to share, “Union Minister JP Nadda writes about the progress made in eliminating TB in the country, which is grounded in ‘public participation.’ He emphasized that India has consistently invested in research and development, strengthened its partnerships, and developed a comprehensive range of ‘Make in India’ TB diagnostics.”
Earlier, Union Health Minister JP Nadda reiterated the government’s commitment in a post on ‘X’ in honor of World TB Day.
He stated, “On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, we reaffirm our commitment to eliminate TB and ensure better health for all, especially for the most vulnerable populations. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made remarkable progress through the ‘National TB Elimination Program.’ This program has further strengthened efforts in prevention, identification, and treatment.”
He added, “This year’s theme, ‘Yes! We can eliminate TB. Under India’s leadership. Through the power of public participation,’ reflects our shared commitment and belief in a TB-free future. A heartfelt thank you to all healthcare workers for their tireless service and compassionate care. Let us continue to work together towards a ‘TB-free India’ and a ‘healthy, empowered nation.’”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health also posted on ‘X’, stating, “India’s campaign against TB is not just a public health effort. It is a testament to our nation’s capacity to unite for a cause that impacts millions of lives.”
