PM Modi Hosts Unique Khatla Meeting in Banaskantha, Celebrated Like a Festival
PM Modis visit to Banaskantha for a Khatla Meeting sparks excitement among locals, likened to a festival atmosphere.

Banaskantha, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Banaskantha district in Gujarat today, where he will inaugurate the Animal Breeding and Research Center (BBRC) in Bhildi. As part of this visit, he will also hold a special ‘Khatla Meeting’ with farmers and livestock owners.
In a departure from the norm, where VIP events typically feature sofas and chairs, this occasion will see traditional ‘khatlas’ or cots arranged in the VIP zone. Invited farmers and livestock owners will engage directly with the Prime Minister while seated on these cots.
The local community, especially women and livestock owners, is buzzing with excitement about the Prime Minister’s visit. One local resident, Chahuben, expressed the overwhelming enthusiasm, saying, “There is tremendous excitement among the people for welcoming Prime Minister Modi. While most events use chairs, this time we will have a Khatla Meeting. It connects us to our culture, and we are thrilled with the preparations.”
Another resident, Gitaben, described the visit as a festival, comparing it to Diwali. She remarked, “Prime Minister Modi’s arrival feels like a celebration. It’s as if Diwali has come early for us. We are all very happy about the inauguration of the Animal Breeding and Research Center in Bhildi. The arrangements for the event are excellent.”
A female livestock owner added that whenever they host guests in their village, khatlas are prepared. She noted, “Today, with our Prime Minister visiting, the arrangements are even more splendid. PM Modi has done so much for us. Thanks to his ambitious plans, every home now has access to water, and the income of livestock owners has significantly increased.”
