PM Modi encourages visits to Ekta Nagars Rain Forest and Skywalk, highlighting their beauty and unique attractions.

Ekta Nagar, October 31 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently urged citizens to explore the stunning Rain Forest and Skywalk in Ekta Nagar, located in Gujarat’s Narmada district. In a post on social media platform X, he described the lush greenery and natural beauty of the area, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in the experience. The Skywalk stands out as a unique attraction, offering breathtaking views of the iconic Statue of Unity.

Modi’s call came during events marking National Unity Day and the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Earlier, he paid tribute to Patel at the Statue of Unity and inaugurated 31 projects worth ₹426.71 crores related to tourism and infrastructure in the region.

The Rain Forest, part of the new attractions around the Statue of Unity, spans approximately 12 acres and simulates a rainforest environment with artificial rain throughout the year. It features 20 rain gun towers, waterfalls, bubble fountains, and a variety of greenery, including trees from different parts of India.

A major highlight of the Rain Forest is the circular glass Skywalk, constructed from 132 panels of 35 mm thick glass. Visitors walking on it can enjoy a unique view of the sprawling forest below. The project also aims to educate visitors about biodiversity and various forest ecosystems. According to the Gujarat government’s project list, ₹14.30 crores have been invested in the Rain Forest initiative.

The Prime Minister also visited the Vaman Vriksha Vatika, which is part of the Ekta Nagar tourism circuit. The government’s goal is to enhance the tourism experience for visitors coming to see the Statue of Unity by developing new attractions in the vicinity. Previously, Modi inaugurated 23 projects worth ₹307.83 crores and laid the foundation for eight projects costing ₹118.88 crores. Notable inaugurated projects include an IRCTC hotel worth ₹50 crores, an ₹16 crore Unity Cruise, and an eco-trail costing ₹3.67 crores.

Foundation-laying projects include the Gora-Bhandra Road, a smart zero-waste integrated solid waste management initiative, eco-tourism in Khalvani, and an integrated cactus and butterfly garden. Modi is also scheduled to participate in the National Unity Day celebrations, which will feature a Unity Parade with contingents from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), state police forces, and central police organizations.

Additionally, the National School of Drama will present a theatrical performance on the theme “Naxal-Free India,” featuring around 2,000 artists from 126 districts affected by left-wing extremism. The event will also showcase tableaux and cultural programs themed around “Vande Mataram,” with approximately 5,000 artists participating from across the country.
