Womens Reservation Bill: A Pathway to Balanced Development, Says Ruzan Khambata

Ahmedabad, April 16: Ruzan Khambata, founder of the Force Empowerment Foundation, expressed her views on the Women’s Reservation Bill in an interview with a news agency. She began by congratulating the government, noting that this bill has been a topic of discussion for a long time. It is set to pass tomorrow, and she is confident it will receive approval.

Khambata stated that this bill will serve as a roadmap for the country’s development, providing women with ample opportunities to work. She emphasized that it will lead to balanced development and urged not to worry about the bill, as it will increase the number of seats available.

Shashi Jain, chairperson of the municipal council in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting women’s empowerment. A rally was held under the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,’ where women from various backgrounds participated. Jain highlighted that this bill will grant women the right to raise their voices.

Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh also commented on the Women’s Reservation Bill, urging for its swift passage. He noted that this is not a new issue but a consistent stance of the Congress party. Singh recalled former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s historic decision to implement 33% reservation in gram panchayats and district panchayats.

He further stated that the Congress party has continuously advocated for 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. However, he expressed strong opposition to linking this with the delimitation process, reiterating their support for women’s reservation.
