PM Modi Expected to Attend Dussehra Celebrations in Delhis IP Extension
Prime Minister Modi may join the grand Dussehra festivities in Delhis IP Extension, with extensive preparations underway for the event.

New Delhi, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to participate in the grand Dussehra celebration in Delhi’s IP Extension on Tuesday. In light of his potential attendance, extensive arrangements are being made to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Dussehra traditionally features the burning of effigies of Ravana, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. This festival is celebrated with great religious fervor across the country, marking the triumph of righteousness.
In recent years, Modi has frequently attended major Dussehra events in the national capital. However, last year, his planned visit to a celebration in East Delhi’s Patparganj on October 2 was canceled due to heavy rain.
In 2024, he participated in a Ramlila ceremony near the Red Fort, alongside President Droupadi Murmu. This event was organized by the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee as part of annual festivities.
Modi also took part in the Ravana Dahan ceremony organized by the Shri Ramleela Society in Dwarka Sector 10 during 2023 and 2019. On these occasions, he engaged in traditional prayers and rituals honoring the characters of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman.
In 2022, he celebrated Dussehra in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, where a historic Deepotsav was held.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend a Ravana Dahan event in Ludhiana, Punjab, on Tuesday evening. This ceremony will not only include the traditional burning of Ravana’s effigy but also a symbolic effigy representing drug abuse, highlighting a significant concern in the state.
