Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk Set to Strengthen Ties During India Visit

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will visit India from October 21-23 to enhance strategic partnerships and discuss key bilateral issues.

New Delhi, October 19 (Daily Kiran) : Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will visit India from October 21 to 23, following an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This marks Tusk’s second official trip to India, having previously visited in 2010 during his earlier term.

During his visit, Tusk will engage in bilateral talks with Modi on October 22. The two leaders are expected to review all aspects of their bilateral relations, which were elevated to the level of “strategic partnership” during Modi’s visit to Poland in August 2024. The discussions will also cover regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Accompanying Tusk will be Poland’s Finance and Economy Minister, Andrzej Domanski, along with a significant business delegation. After completing his engagements in New Delhi, Tusk will travel to Bengaluru, where he will meet with various stakeholders in the information technology and space sectors.

The ‘India-Poland Business Forum’ is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on October 22 and in Bengaluru on October 23. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that this visit will provide an opportunity to further strengthen the India-Poland strategic partnership, enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, defense, emerging technologies, renewable energy, education, culture, and people-to-people connections. It will also contribute to deepening the India-European Union strategic partnership.

On September 4, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, in Warsaw. They reviewed progress on the “Joint Action Plan 2024-28,” focusing on trade, investment, space, digital sectors, AI, semiconductors, defense, education, shipping, mining, energy, and cultural ties.

Jaishankar later shared insights on social media, expressing optimism that the implementation of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) would further bolster bilateral cooperation.
