PM Modi Congratulates Anant Nag on Receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award

New Delhi, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to veteran actor Anant Nag for being awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024. In his message, Modi highlighted how Nag’s natural acting and remarkable versatility have left a lasting impact on Indian cinema, particularly in Kannada films.

In a post shared on the social media platform X, Modi expressed, “Heartfelt congratulations to the legendary Anant Nag ji on being honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.” He emphasized that throughout his career, Nag has built a strong identity in Indian cinema through his effortless performances and exceptional talent. His portrayals have consistently demonstrated rare depth and authenticity.

The Prime Minister noted that this honor is well-deserved for an artist who has made significant contributions to Indian cinema. Earlier, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) announced that Nag would receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his remarkable cinematic journey, which has inspired generations.

According to the PIB, the selection committee recommended Nag for this esteemed recognition, which will be presented at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Kevadia, Gujarat, on September 22, 2026.

Anant Nag is celebrated as one of the prominent actors in Indian cinema, especially in Kannada films. Throughout his extensive film career, he has taken on a variety of roles, establishing a unique connection with audiences through his performances.
