New Delhi, May 30: The weather in the national capital, Delhi, and the entire NCR changed dramatically after noon on Saturday. A dust storm began in Gurugram, followed by heavy rainfall in Delhi and surrounding areas, providing much-needed relief from the oppressive heat. Currently, strong winds are blowing at speeds ranging from 40 to 80 km/h. Additionally, clouds have gathered over Noida, accompanied by rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for the next three hours. The alert indicates that areas in western Uttar Pradesh, including Bulandshahr, Baghpat, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Meerut, Mathura, and Hapur, may experience extremely strong winds (60-90 km/h), along with thunderstorms, hail, and heavy rain.
According to the latest forecast from the IMD, pleasant weather is expected to continue in the NCR on May 30 and 31, with light to very light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds anticipated in several locations.
A yellow alert has been issued for both days. The IMD predicts a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius on May 30. The forecast includes the possibility of “thunderstorms with rain,” indicating light to moderate rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds at speeds of 40 to 50 km/h during the afternoon and evening. The weather on May 31 is expected to remain similar.
On May 31, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius. The weather department forecasts light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds at similar speeds for this day as well. However, with the onset of June, temperatures are likely to rise again. On June 1, the maximum temperature is projected to be 38 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius.
On this day, the weather will be partially cloudy, and no warnings have been issued. By June 2, temperatures may rise to 39 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius, while remaining partially cloudy. According to the weather department, on June 3, the maximum temperature could reach 40 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius, and the sky is expected to be mostly clear.
On June 4, temperatures may peak at 41 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The weather is expected to remain clear, and no warnings have been issued. Meteorologists suggest that the effects of western disturbances and local weather activities will continue to provide relief in the NCR for the next two days.
The rainfall and strong winds are expected to lower daytime temperatures, offering respite from the intense heat and humidity. However, after June 1, temperatures are likely to rise rapidly once the weather clears.
