PKL Season 12 to Kick Off on August 29; Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi Announced as Host Cities

Mumbai, July 31 : Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is set to begin on 29 August 2025, featuring a multi-city format that will bring top-tier kabaddi action to fans across the country. The matches will be held in Visakhapatnam (Vizag), Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi.

Opening Weekend Schedule

The opening match of the season will be played on Friday, 29 August, at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Vizag, featuring Telugu Titans against Tamil Thalaivas. The second match will see Bengaluru Bulls take on Puneri Paltan.

On Saturday, 30 August, Telugu Titans will return to the mat to face UP Yoddhas, followed by a clash between U Mumba and Gujarat Giants. On Sunday’s ‘Super Sunday’ lineup, Tamil Thalaivas will battle U Mumba, and defending champions Haryana Steelers will begin their title defence against Bengal Warriors.

Vizag’s Return to the League

Season 12 marks a historic return for Vizag as a host city, coming back to the league after seven years. The city had previously hosted PKL matches in Seasons 1, 3, and 6.

Jaipur Leg Begins September 12

From 12 September, the action will shift to the Indoor Hall of SMS Stadium in Jaipur. The Jaipur Pink Panthers will face Bengaluru Bulls, followed by a match between Tamil Thalaivas and Bengal Warriors.

Chennai to Host from September 29

The Chennai leg of the league will start on 29 September at the SDAT Multipurpose Indoor Stadium. This phase will feature UP Yoddhas against Gujarat Giants and Dabang Delhi KC facing Haryana Steelers — a match that will see Naveen Kumar playing against his former team.

Delhi to Host Final Leg of League Stage

The final leg of the league stage will begin on 13 October at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi. Key matchups will include Patna Pirates vs Haryana Steelers and U Mumba vs UP Yoddhas. The league round will conclude with a triple-header, offering fans a thrilling build-up to the playoffs.

The schedule for the playoffs will be announced later.

League Commissioner Highlights Season’s Significance

In an official statement, League Commissioner Anupam Goswami said, “Season 12 marks a new chapter in the growth of the Pro Kabaddi League. Through this multi-city format, we are not only reaching kabaddi fans across India but also strengthening our presence in core regions. The return to Visakhapatnam is especially a proud moment for us.”
