
Prayagraj, 09 December (Daily Kiran) – A junior assistant clerk of the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe on Tuesday. The Anti-Corruption team of Prayagraj arrested Ajay Kumar, a resident of Beniganj locality, son of Lakhan Singh Nagar. Legal action has been initiated against him with a case registered at the Civil Lines police station.
Inspector Rakesh Bahadur Singh, in charge of the Prayagraj field unit of the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Corruption Organisation and trap in-charge, stated that Ajay Kumar holds the position of junior assistant clerk at the PDA. The case followed a written complaint filed on 8 December by Pranendra Pandey, son of Chhotelal from Kodsand village under Tharwai police station area in Prayagraj.
The complainant alleged that Ajay Kumar demanded a bribe of ₹8,000 to process the registration of a 50 square yard plot. Acting on this, trap in-charge Inspector Chandrabhan Singh and his team conducted a planned operation on Tuesday. The team caught Ajay Kumar accepting ₹8,000 as a bribe. Subsequently, a case was registered against him at the Civil Lines police station, and further legal proceedings are underway.
