Patna Metro Expands with New Malahi Pakri Station Inauguration

Patna, July 2: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated the Malahi Pakri Metro Station on Thursday, marking a significant milestone for the Patna Metro Rail Project. This expansion extends the metro’s operational reach to 6.2 kilometers, enhancing public transport for residents in the eastern part of the city.

Following the inauguration, CM Chaudhary boarded the metro train, traveling from Malahi Pakri Station to Bhootnath Road Station. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav. The distance between Malahi Pakri and Bhootnath Road stations is approximately three kilometers. With this extension, four stations are now operational on this route: Malahi Pakri, Bhootnath, Zero Mile, and Bariya ISBT.

Officials have set a maximum fare of 30 rupees for travel from Malahi Pakri Station to Bariya ISBT. This new station will significantly ease commuting for residents of Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar, and nearby areas. It is expected to reduce traffic congestion on the roads and cut down travel time. The 6.2-kilometer journey will take just 16 minutes, with a fare of 30 rupees.

Previously, the fare to Bhootnath was 15 rupees, and a complete round trip took 35 minutes. The metro will operate every 35 minutes. The government is committed to developing a modern and world-class public transport system in the capital. They assured that the Patna Metro network will soon be expanded to connect more residents.

The metro service’s expansion is anticipated to provide residents with safe, fast, comfortable, and eco-friendly transportation, significantly strengthening the capital’s traffic management.
