Passenger Bus Overturns on NH-27 After Tire Burst, Dozens Injured

Gopalganj, April 20: A significant road accident occurred in Gopalganj district, Bihar, on Monday. A passenger bus traveling from Delhi suddenly lost control and overturned near the Barahima toll plaza on NH-27. The scene turned chaotic as passengers screamed for help following the incident.

According to reports, the bus was speeding when a tire burst unexpectedly. Eyewitnesses stated that the driver could not regain control of the vehicle, leading to the bus flipping over off the road.

More than a dozen passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Local residents rushed to the scene immediately and began rescue operations. With their assistance, the injured were extricated from the bus and transported to the Sadar Hospital in Gopalganj for urgent medical care.

A team of doctors at the hospital has commenced treatment for the injured. Some passengers are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred to Gorakhpur for advanced treatment. The remaining injured are receiving care in the hospital’s emergency ward.

Sadar SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar confirmed that the bus was en route from Delhi when the tire burst caused the accident. He stated that all injured individuals have been admitted to the hospital and that the situation is currently under control.

Upon receiving news of the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Efforts are also underway to restore normal traffic flow on the road. Authorities have indicated that a detailed inquiry into the causes of the accident is ongoing, and further actions will be based on the investigation report.
