Kochi, August 6: A serious incident unfolded on a Batik Air flight traveling from Kuala Lumpur to Kochi. During the flight, a passenger attempted to open the emergency exit door, prompting immediate intervention from the cabin crew and fellow travelers to maintain control until the aircraft landed safely.
The passenger, identified as Jamsheer from Palakkad, Kerala, was detained immediately after the flight’s arrival at Kochi International Airport on Wednesday night. Initially, he was stopped by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, and subsequently, the Nedumbassery police took him into custody for further investigation.
An FIR has been filed in connection with the incident. Authorities from multiple agencies are now questioning the passenger to determine the reasons behind the alarming situation and whether there was any underlying motive for his actions.
Following the completion of the inquiry, he is expected to be presented in a local court. According to investigators, the incident occurred while the aircraft was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Kochi.
Reports indicate that the passenger attempted to open the emergency exit door, which necessitated immediate action from the cabin crew. With the assistance of other passengers, the crew managed to restrain him to prevent the situation from escalating further.
