Pakistan Triumphs Over Bangladesh by 128 Runs in Second ODI, Maj Sadakat Shines

New Delhi, March 13: Pakistan secured a commanding victory against Bangladesh, winning the second ODI by 128 runs on Friday. The match took place at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium, where Bangladesh was set a target of 243 runs. However, they were bowled out for just 114 runs, leveling the series at 1-1.

Bangladesh’s innings got off to a shaky start. In just the second over, Tanjid Hasan Tamim was dismissed by Shaheen Afridi for a mere one run. Saif Hasan followed shortly after, scoring only 12 runs. Najmul Hossain Shanto was also unable to open his account, getting clean bowled by Afridi.

After 6.3 overs, Bangladesh found themselves in dire straits at 27 runs with three wickets down. The match was interrupted due to a thunderstorm, followed by heavy rain.

Once the rain subsided, Bangladesh was given a revised target under the Duckworth-Lewis rule, needing 243 runs to win in 32 overs. Unfortunately, their batting lineup collapsed under pressure from Pakistan’s bowlers, and they managed only 114 runs.

Litton Das was the top scorer for Bangladesh, making 41 runs, while Towhid Hridoy contributed 28 runs. On the bowling front, Maj Sadakat was the standout performer for Pakistan, taking three wickets for just 23 runs in five overs. Haris Rauf also claimed three wickets, while captain Afridi took two and Mohammad Wasim Jr. added one.

Earlier, Pakistan’s batting lineup was all out for 274 runs. Sahibzada Farhan and Maj Sadakat provided a solid start, adding 103 runs for the first wicket in 13 overs. Farhan scored 31 runs, while Sadakat impressed with a quickfire 75 runs off 46 balls, including six fours and five sixes.

Salman Agha also showcased his form, scoring 64 runs off 62 balls, and Mohammad Rizwan chipped in with 44 runs. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain was the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets for 56 runs, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two wickets. With this victory, Pakistan has leveled the three-match ODI series at 1-1.
