Over 700 Employees Unemployed After ThinkTech Indias CEO Arrested Amid Financial Scandal

New Delhi, June 4: Over 700 employees of Pune-based IT company ThinkTech India have reportedly lost their jobs following the company’s abrupt shutdown. Many employees have been evicted from their offices and are now struggling to recover their pending salaries and security deposits.

According to reports, the sudden closure of ThinkTech India, located in the Hinjawadi IT hub of Pune, is linked to an alleged financial scam and fraud investigation that led to the arrest of CEO Harshal Thakre.

The issue first came to light after a complaint was filed by a 25-year-old intern, prompting police to launch a comprehensive investigation into the company’s financial status and business activities.

Authorities stated that more than 30 other employees and interns subsequently approached the police with similar complaints. These grievances include non-payment of salaries, withheld stipends, and failure to return amounts collected from employees.

Employees claim that the company abruptly ceased operations in April without any prior notice. Many arrived at the office only to find it closed, with no way to contact company representatives.

Investigative agencies have also filed cases against the company’s head of training and development, as well as a human resources (HR) manager.

Reports indicate that the company collected approximately ₹15,000 as a security deposit from employees and interns, claiming it was necessary for official laptops and other equipment.

Initially, the company was timely with salary and stipend payments, which built employee trust. However, payments have been completely halted since January of this year.

Several employees have also alleged that the company later issued checks in lieu of pending salaries, but many of these checks bounced, raising further concerns about the company’s financial health.

The police have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and they are examining additional financial records and transaction-related information from the company.
