Katra, June 23: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage has achieved a significant milestone this year. As of June 22, the number of devotees visiting the sacred cave temple has surpassed 5 million. A total of 5.07 million pilgrims have paid their respects at the shrine dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi.
This achievement is considered even more noteworthy compared to last year. During the same period in 2025, approximately 3.98 million devotees visited the shrine. This marks a remarkable increase of 1.08 million pilgrims. The rise in numbers reflects the unwavering faith and devotion of both domestic and international visitors to Mata Vaishno Devi.
The growing number of pilgrims also indicates a strengthened trust in the arrangements made by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Additionally, the coordinated efforts of all stakeholders involved in pilgrimage management have played a crucial role in this success.
Under the leadership of Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Chairman of the Shrine Board, several important measures have been implemented to ensure a safe, smooth, and convenient journey for devotees. The Shrine Board has continuously improved infrastructure development, expanded accommodation facilities, enhanced cleanliness, managed crowd control, upgraded health services, operated battery cars, provided ropeway services, prepared for disaster management, and enhanced digital facilities. These initiatives have significantly improved the quality of service delivery for pilgrims.
The surpassing of 5 million pilgrims this year is seen as a sign of growing enthusiasm among devotees for the pilgrimage. Furthermore, this achievement suggests positive prospects for continued progress in the coming months and an increase in the number of visitors.
