Udaipur, June 3, 2026 (Daily Kiran): Hindustan Zinc Limited is benefiting more than 1,600 students this year through summer camps being conducted under its Shiksha Sambal programme. The initiative focuses on strengthening students’ understanding of English, Mathematics and Science while promoting their overall development through sports, cultural and intellectual activities.

Students participating in the camps have shown enthusiasm, confidence and interest in learning. The supportive environment and guidance provided by teachers have helped create a home-like atmosphere for children, contributing to their academic and personal growth.
Under the programme, more than 1,600 students from government schools across six districts—Udaipur, Salumbar, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Ajmer—are participating in the summer training camps. Along with academic subjects, students are being engaged in physical, sports, cultural and intellectual activities aimed at holistic development.
The ninth residential summer camp, organised by Hindustan Zinc in collaboration with Vidya Bhawan Society, was formally inaugurated at Vidya Bhawan Senior Secondary School. The residential camp is being held from May 20 to June 19, 2026, with more than 340 students participating for academic guidance related to Classes 8, 10 and 12.
This year, around 1,200 students are participating in non-residential camps being conducted at Chanderiya, Dariba, Debari, Kayad, Agucha and Zawar. In addition, residential camps in Udaipur are hosting approximately 240 Class 10 students, 50 Class 8 students and 50 Class 12 Science students from different locations.
The residential camps include digital classrooms, audio-visual learning materials, hands-on activities, clay art, pottery, creative projects using waste materials and exposure to emerging technologies such as robotics.
The residential camp initiative, which began on a pilot basis 10 years ago, has continued to expand over the years. Under the Shiksha Sambal programme, Hindustan Zinc has been supporting students facing learning gaps for the past 20 years. Along with academic learning, the summer camps focus on skill development, behaviour enhancement, sports and cultural activities to encourage educational and personal improvement.
The inauguration programme at Vidya Bhawan Senior Secondary School was attended by Hindustan Zinc and Vedanta Head CSR Anupam Nidhi, Vidya Bhawan Society President Jitendra Talia, CEO Rajendra Bhatt, Vidya Bhawan Shiksha Sandarbh Kendra In-charge Subhash Sharma, Shiksha Sambal Project Leads Ruchika Chawla and Aparna Vyas, and Government Higher Secondary School Matoon Principal Satish Vyas. Students and volunteers from Classes 8, 10 and 12 also shared their experiences during the event.
The Shiksha Sambal Summer Camp at Zinc Smelter Debari was inaugurated at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Sakroda, where more than 200 students actively participated. Guests and school principals encouraged students and highlighted the importance of summer camps in enhancing learning abilities, building confidence and supporting overall personality development.
Under the Shiksha Sambal programme, Hindustan Zinc provides support in Science, Mathematics and English education for students studying in Classes 10 to 12 in government schools where teaching positions remain vacant. The residential training camps also provide expert academic guidance to students entering Classes 8, 10 and 12, helping them learn these subjects through engaging and practical methods.
