Patna, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 1,465 positions under the General Departmental Competitive Examination (GDCE) for the East Central Railway (ECR). This announcement was made on October 4, 2026.
Among the available positions are roles such as Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP), with 910 vacancies in the electrical category. Other openings include Technician III roles across various engineering fields, Junior Engineers, Depot Material Superintendent, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Station Masters, and Goods Train Managers, among others.
The online application process began on September 15 and will close on October 15. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the official RRC or ECR websites before the deadline.
Applicants must possess qualifications such as a matriculation or SSLC certificate along with an ITI, a three-year diploma, or a relevant degree in fields like mechanical, electrical, electronics, or civil engineering. Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks in their 12th grade.
The age limit for applicants ranges from 18 to 42 years, with the age calculated as of January 1, 2027. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government rules.
Selection will be based on a computer-based test (CBT), an aptitude test, a typing skill test, document verification, and a medical examination. Selected candidates will receive salaries according to the 7th Pay Commission’s pay matrix, ranging from levels 2 to 6.
