Adani Group and Kutch University Launch Green Energy Center of Excellence

Bhuj, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Adani Group, through its skill development and capacity-building unit, Adani Skills and Education (ASE), has inaugurated a Green Energy Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bhuj, Gujarat, in collaboration with Kutch University. This initiative aims to develop skilled human resources for India’s rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

The opening ceremony was led by Gujarat’s Governor Acharya Devvrat. The center is expected to provide specialized training programs in renewable energy and industrial automation to over 10,000 students each year.

This initiative comes at a time when the demand for trained professionals in the clean energy sector is surging due to its expansion across the country. According to the Adani Group, their green energy projects in Kutch have created over 21,000 direct and indirect jobs in the past two years, highlighting the need for a skilled workforce in the construction, operation, and maintenance of green energy infrastructure.

Training at the Green Energy Center of Excellence will cover various fields, including solar PV technology, wind energy systems, hybrid energy systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and digital and industrial automation. Additionally, the center will promote applied research and entrepreneurship in the green energy sector.

Karan Adani, Director of the Adani Group, emphasized the importance of the renewable energy sector in shaping India’s future. He noted that the center will not only prepare students for current job opportunities but also empower them to capitalize on emerging possibilities both nationally and globally.

Robin Bhauik, CEO of Adani Skills and Education, pointed out that while the renewable energy industry is rapidly expanding, the availability of skilled talent has not kept pace. He expressed optimism that the partnership with Kutch University would bridge this gap, allowing students to gain practical experience with real-world technologies.

India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 gigawatts of non-fossil fuel-based energy capacity by 2030, leading to significant investments in solar, wind, energy storage, and other clean energy sectors.

Kutch has emerged as a key hub for this transformation, with the Adani Group developing a 30-gigawatt renewable energy park in Khavda, spanning approximately 538 square kilometers, which is considered one of the largest green energy projects in the world.

The university-based center will operate on a structured teaching model that combines classroom study, simulation-based training, and practical experience. The curriculum will include solar and wind energy technologies, renewable energy integration, battery storage systems, microgrids, SCADA systems, IoT-based energy applications, and smart grid technologies.
