
New Delhi, August 9: In a thrilling encounter of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, the Outer Delhi Warriors showcased an impressive performance, defeating the Central Delhi Kings by 25 runs. Chasing a target of 217 runs set by the Warriors, the Central Delhi team was bowled out for 191 runs in just 17.2 overs.
The Central Delhi Kings had a rocky start in their innings. Siddharth June managed only 7 runs before being dismissed. Yugal Saini also struggled, scoring just 1 run before falling to Navdeep Saini. Jonty Sidhu returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs off 11 balls. Captain Yash Dhull played a remarkable innings, scoring 47 runs off 23 balls with a strike rate of 204, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. However, he fell short of reaching his half-century.
Aditya Bhandari failed to capitalize on a good start, scoring 19 runs off 8 balls before being caught by Aman Chaudhary off Shivam Sharma’s bowling. Vansh Bedi could only manage a single run. In the later overs, Jasveer Sahrawat delivered an explosive performance, scoring 62 runs off just 33 balls, but lacked support from the other batsmen. Shivam Sharma was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 37 runs, while Navdeep Saini also claimed 3 wickets. Pratham and Harsh Tyagi each took 2 wickets.
Earlier, Priyansh Arya and Yajus Sharma provided a solid start for the Outer Delhi Warriors, adding 45 runs for the first wicket. Priyansh scored 19 runs before being dismissed. Dhruv Singh had a disappointing outing, scoring only 8 runs. Yajus made a significant contribution, scoring 46 runs off 25 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes before getting out.
Akshay Saini added 29 runs off 19 balls, while Mohit Panwar contributed 21 runs. Monu Shukla scored 14 runs, and Shivam Sharma, who took 3 wickets, also played a quick innings of 24 runs off just 10 balls. Harsh Tyagi contributed 24 runs, and Siddhant Sharma finished with an unbeaten 19 runs off 5 balls. For Central Delhi, Jonty Sidhu was the most successful bowler, taking 2 wickets for 14 runs, while Mani Grewal also claimed 2 wickets.
